When a company makes employees feel welcome during the on boarding process, you're setting the stage for long-term emotional bonds. These ties assist to build a foundation of trust that can boost employee engagement, remove obstacles to collaboration, and lead to employees staying with your organization for a long time.

The importance of first impressions

How our brains are structured to make initial impressions is one of the most significant hurdles to mutual understanding. We acquire first impressions about trustworthiness, likeability, and even competency within milliseconds after seeing someone's face for the first time, according to Princeton University psychologist Alex Todorov's research. He explained this occurrence by stating that the brain processes early impressions in the amygdala (danger region) rather than the frontal cortex, as if they were a fear response (rational thought).
